Mobinil Launches 3G Network Sept. 1

Mobinil will offer third generation (3G) mobile services starting Sept. 1. This announcement was made by the state news agency, MENA. The launching will happen immediately before the start of the Ramadan.

Mobinil disclosed in April it would delay introducing 3G services to mid-July due to delayed handing over of a frequency band for testing by regulatory authorities.

Mobinil was meant to receive the frequency band on Jan. 17 but the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority did not say it was available until late March, it said.
