Vodafone Approves £E 7.60 Dividend

Shareholders of Vodafone Egypt will get a £E 7.60 dividend per share for the financial year ended March 31. This approval was announced by minority shareholder Telecom Egypt on Monday.

Telecom Egypt owns 44.8% stake in Vodafone Egypt and hopes to get £E 817 million dividend. Vodafone Egypt, owning 54.9% of the Egyptian company gets a dividend worth £E 1.001 billion.

Telecom Egypt said it also earned £E 494.5 million from Vodafone Egypt, or £E 4.6 a share, from a profit distribution approved at a shareholders' meeting on Jan. 17.

Vodafone Egypt, established in 1998, provides a wide range of communication services, including voice and data, across Egypt. Since its inception, the company has drawn on the global strength of Vodafone Group as well as its own in-house research and development of innovative products tailored specifically for the Egyptian mobile market.
